VR4 fuel pump in a SL?

I have heard that running a VR4 fuel pump on a SL will help with performance. Is this true, and if so why?

Re: VR4 fuel pump in a SL?

I was under the impression they were hte same pump...but I'm really not sure.

As far as how it will help performance (if they are different, I'd assume the vr4 pump flows more fuel), I really wouldn't think alone it would do anything. Stock you wouldn't need more fuel, and I don't think even BPUs would come close to starving the stock pump.

Where did you hear this?

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: VR4 fuel pump in a SL?

The vr4 pump is different, but unless your going FI I doubt you could overrun the stock pump.

you'd more likely over run the fuel pressure regulator if anything

Re: VR4 fuel pump in a SL?

TT pump flows more than the NA pump, and unless you are going FI (turbo, SC or Wet Nitrous) there is no reason to upgrade the NA pump.
