Angry 99 Grand Am Se

Hi. I Have A 99 Grand Am Se V6. The Problem Is That It Starts Fine At First, But When You Turn It Off, Then Try To Start It A Few Minutes Later, It Stalls. Sometimes I Have To Let It Sit 5 To 10 Minutes Before It Will Start. This Happens Even If I Drive For A Few Minutes. IF I PRESS ON THE GAS, IT WILL START. THE SECURITY LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON.I Have Had A New Alternator, Fuel Pump, And Ignition Switch. The Security System Has Been Reset And Fuel Pressure Is Fine. My Gas Gauge Doesnt Work Either. It Hasnt Stalled While Driving Yet, But Occasionally The Lights Will Dim Like The Battery Is Going Dead. I Really Dont Know What Else To Do. I Have Spent Alot Of Money Trying To Get It Fixed But No One Has Been Able To Fix It AND I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CARS. Please Help!!!!!

Re: 99 Grand Am Se

Welcome forney. Is your Service engine soon(SES) light on? How many miles on ur 99? I hav a 99' my gas gauge works funny too. When i fill up it works and right before it runs empty the low fuel light comes on, very strange cars indeed.
I'm sure with all the talented MECH's here, we can narrow it down for ya.

Re: 99 Grand Am Se

I've had the the spit and sputter changed the fuel filter and it ran better. But in the end i had to replace all the injectors. I was getting the SES light and the codes were misfire codes on multiple cylinders. Its ran fine since them.
when the lights dim is it night with the radio or AC on? Since u replaced the altenator you may need a battery too. MY 99s lights dim when i hav alot of things running at night, I hav a 120amp altenator and a new battery. Mostly dims when i stop not while driving down the road though. Hope this helps.
