'95 cutlass ciera - musty moldy smell!! HELP!!
HELP!
our ciera began smelling horridly musty and moldy, started overnight a couple wks ago - thinking it was due to leaving the window open a large crack during a huge rainstorm, but the smell/mustiness is still NOT gone. i am assuming it is leaking from a rust spot somewhere and wetting the carpeting somewhere, but i have looked EVERYWHERE to find a leak and cannot. does anyone know what/where i might look to find leaks due to rust or ??? in this particular model? do they tend to leak in any particular area? there is one rust spot at the lower passenger side of the back window, but it's not rusted thru, and i have checked the carpet in the passenger compartment and also in the trunk, and there is no wet spot in either. i can't stand it - it's causing my allergies to just hit the roof! ![]() TIA for any and all suggestions. i may have to get rid of the car - i can't live w/ this. thanks! judemeister |

Is the smell always there or is it worse with the air on? I've had that problem when the drain on the evaporator case was plugged and the water off that went nasty and stagnant.
Just a thought. |

i found the problem! woo-hoo!
the back passenger side floor board was wet and nasty - i am assuming it's from a deluge we got. the carpet wasn't wet, but when i pulled up the carpet, the padding was really wet, and still condensation standing in the metal pan. thanks for all your help! jude |
