Over There
i watched the first 2 episode of this show last night. my friend tivo'd them and put them on a tape. an extremely good show in my opinion. i like how it shows more of how war is effecting people that are actually fighting in it, both in the military and at home, rather than showing the political issues based around it. i especially liked when the Iraqi insurgent got blown in half and his legs were still moving.
from reviews i've read also, the place where they filmed it supposedly is as close to Iraq as one can come with out actually venturing over there. congrats to FX for airing another great series. right up there with Rescue Me and Nip/Tuck. Last edited by highteknology; 08-10-2005 at 12:29 PM. |

Awesome show, but it really hits me hard to watch it. I mean think about some of the parents of soldiers over there and what not who have watched it, and this almost brings tears to me and I'm 18, and about to enlist. Did a great show, and the didn't put any bullshit in it in my opinion.

Re: Over There
yeah, i think the reason this show is so good is because it doesn't really include any of the political aspects of the war. people in this country get those aspects all the time. but do to classified information and other rules of that stuff, people don't really get the whole picture of our soldiers actually doing the fighting.

Re: Over There
watched 1/2 of an episode and really think it's disgusting what FX is doing. I mean you really think they give an accurate portrayal of what is really going on "over there?" I also think that is even more disgusting that another company has found a way to profit off of American's and other "coalition forces" being killed. What they've done is turn a political issue into a dramactic play. Comeon, soldiers and civilians are dying every fucking day, and what do people do? Go home, turn on the TV and watch a ficticious show thinking that it gives them some sort of an idea of what is really going on. Seriously makes me want to throw up. But props to Fox for figuring out how to make even more money off of other people's suffering. Peace-

A couple people I know have actually been "over there" say it's pretty damned realistic As far as making a "profit off of American's and other "coalition forces" being killed" did you have the same problem with "Saving Private Ryan" or any other war movie??? |
