Radio back lights

2003 Montana, radio with CD player. one half the back light for the radio is out. anyone ever change them? what is the process and what kind of bulb is used?

Well the middle one on mine is out, with some reading I did on here its a pain to get the radio out but even worse to change the bulbs. Checked with a buddy that has done some and well he says wait till the display is about useless then change them all and if you knock the display off while changing them it may never work right again.

There is a similar thread going on in the Venture forum. I remember seeing a similar thread about this awhile back, but I searched and couldn't find it,(it wasn't in this forum but it dealt with GM radios.) You can get the bulbs at Radio Shack or other specialty electronic stores, and it's a matter of desoldering the old bulbs out and resoldering the new bulbs in the unit.

did my 04 today it went well soldered in 3 new bulbs. use the search for radio display lots of good info and radio shack part numbers,
