Ok this is the third fuel pump that I have out in and it quit again today. I went out and tried it again 4 hours late and it started fine? Any clues on what is going on? It is a GM fuel pump and not an after market this time.

Re: Fuel Pump on and off???????????
Did you change the fuel filter? If not, it could be causing your pressure to be low.
It could also be a leaking regulator. Make sure that your battery is good and fully charged. I know...it sounds dumb, but the 96+ CSFIs are very tempermental. If the battery is weak, it won't have enough power to turn over the engine and provide enough power for the fuel pump to reach the proper pressure. Usually when this is the case...the problem is more noticible in the morning when it's cool. As the temperature rises so does the battery voltage, giving it enough power to start. Have you checked your fuel pressure? How do you know that it is a fuel related problem? |

Very good point blazee. I did change the fuel filter after the first pump. I just replaced the alt. so it could be a low battery I guess. I will throw the meter on it tonight. I will check the fuel pressure after I get the pump working again. Thanks for you imput! I am only a weekend mechanic on my own wheels at my dads shop so this has me running. I have the differrential to deal with next. I don't think I will pick up another blazer at the auction anytime soon!
