hello iám from german i have a problem i want to repair a caddilac eldorado with 8,2l but i need the nm for the crankshaft please help

now, as to your question:
you need the name ? of the crankshaft.
that is the proper terminology, the crankshaft connects in the rear of the engine to the flexplate, or flywheel and put the power to the transmission.
in the front on the engine, the crankshaft protrudes its shaft through the motor, to the timing gears and chain, or timing belt, and then through this cover to the harmonic balancer which spins the serpentine belt that supplies power to the alternator, power steering, water pump (if not crank or other driven), air conditioning, et cetera.

what year is the vehicle?
how many miles?
what specifically are you trying to do?
if you are unsure of the English name, type it in German, as many are fluent in other languages.

hey Markus,
I am not familiar with the term "newtonmeter"
what does it do? also, you still did not list the year of the Eldorado, so I am unsure if the component is for like, a newer, computer controlled vehicle, or and older vacuum and mechanically timed car.

is it a crank positioning sensor? this detects the actual rotation of the crank and turns it into an electric pulse, letting the coils know what piston or cylinder should fire next.
or a knock sensor? this is a feedback sensor which monitors detonation in the block, by vibration or pulsation of the combustion explosion and will assist the computer's judgement to advance or retard the timing and firing of the cylinders.

in the older vehicles, these components were not there, and they used a pick-up coil in the distributor, and an ignition module which was sometimes in the distibutor and sometimes bolted to the engine block to monitor these functions.

if this is not it, please explain what your "meter" and "holder" do, or where they are located, or even email me a picture (if you have a digital camera) and I will happily identify and help you find this component.

Ist es kurbelt ein positionierung Sensor?
Dies entdeckt die eigentliche Drehung vom kurbelt und dreht es in einen elektrischen Puls, den die Windungen lässt, welchen Kolben oder Zylinder nächst wissen sollen feuern.
Oder ein Schlagsensor?

Newton-meter is a term of torque value, like in-lbs or foot-pounds. I think what he is asking for is the torque value for the crank hub. I know it is press fit on, but I don't know think it is a specific torque since it's not held on by a fastener. The crank pulley is around 30 lb-ft for the 4 bolts.

I believe he wants the torque specs for the main and connecting rod bearings for that particular engine.
