PT Cruiser GT HO vs. RX-8
Hey I was wondering who you think would win in a 1/4 mile race. A manual 2004 PT Cruiser GT HO or a automatic 2004 RX-8. Keep in mind the Cruiser has roughly 220 hp and 245 lbs of torque. The RX-8 has 193 hp and 165 lbs of torque I think. The RX-8 is also about 200-300 lbs lighter than the Cruiser.

The Pt Gt will win the 300 lbs wont matter every 100 lbs is only 1/10 second in the 1/4 mile.

Re: PT Cruiser GT HO vs. RX-8
I think the PT would win the straight line, if you get the power down well enough.

The GT Bruiser would smoke it. Its faster off the line, and the manual tran helps with the accel.

Probably the Cruiser. I'm sure if you put a capable driver, the RX8 can outlaunch it, though.
A manual Rx-8 will walk it, though. |

I read in Race & Street or one of the big mags that the RX8 is all looks and no show, it was either that the torque kicks in at too high rpms like 6000 or the overall power curve was disappointing.
