Re: E85 Flex fuel

Pretty hard to find fuel without ethanol blended in these days.

Look into these web sites for fuel savings.

2 weeks ago I forgot to add the secret ingredient, and used a 1/2 tank on a fishing trip.
Last weekend I remembered the ingredient, and only used about 1/4 tank driving on basicly the same roads to basicly the same place. With the same load on. Same weather conditions. Hot and Dry

Re: E85 Flex fuel

The ethanol blends that we all use today are 10% ethanol and 90% petroleum.
E85 is 85 % ethanol and 15% petroleum and is 105 octane. There are many new cars out now that can run on either fuel. They are called "flex-fuel" vehicles. What we need is for someone to come up with a conversion kit for older 4.3L engines. All components and seals that contact the fuel would have to resist E85. Oxygen sensors have to have ability to sense the fuel type and the computer has to know what to do with air/fuel mixture and timing for each fuel......and I'm sure there's much more...
