Applying modelling skills to the 1:1 world.....RB26

This was the engine bay of my R32 GT-R when I purchased it August 2004

The engine covers were removed, de-greased, etch primer, primed, base coat silver, clear coat, translucent red applied and finally 6 coats of clear.
Cut back with 1500 grit, cut out with 3m Compound and polished with Meguiars Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax.

I also spent 2 full days at the weekend cleaning everything is sight (almost)

If it was not for painting model cars, I would have no idea what to do.

Thanks guys for the painting tips and help over the years.

Wow! What a difference. Nice paint.
Did you paint anything else in the engine bay or just clean?

Wow, that cleaned up beautifully! It would never have occured to me that you could do that- or that you did it yourself. Now that I think of it, the engine cover of my M3 could use some attention!

How did you clean up the engine? It looks imaculate, hard to tell it's the same car. Mine needs to be cleaned, but I don't really know how to begin....

to clean the under hood plastics, find some inside out detailer. most professional places use this stuff. it is awesome. VERY nice engine bay steve, It looks as though you have added a lot of shiny peices along the way!!

It has Apexi Down Pipes, Decatted, HKS Silent Hi-Power Cat Back, HKS Fcon, Greddy Boost Contoller and other stuff now. But needs a new heavier duty clutch as it's sliping on Hi Boost.

Nice, work steve.
Now you need to get the OS Giken 3.0 liter kit and a 4 inch downpipe!
On a serious note, have you tried the HKS Hi-Power EV-R?
