Re: ignition wiring
A starter kill prevents (or at least slows down) a thief from starting your car if they don't know how to deactivate the starter kill.
A simple starter kill is to cut the 10ga yellow wire comming out of the ignition harness (that's the GM starter wire in the harness), and install an on/off switch in the wire, in a hidden location, and once you turn the switch off, no car startie! There are more elaborate methods, but those are the basics. I don't own a single car that I haven't installed one on.

Re: ignition wiring
An ignition kill switch is more effective and baffling to a thief than a starter kill.
Any fool that ever had a starter solenoid go bad knows to bypass it with a screwdriver applied to the terminals at the starter, but finding the source of lack of igntion feed power is more perplexing and takes time, which criminals hate, usually being stupid and in a hurry ![]() All you'd have to do is isolate a supply wire for any part of the ignition system that passes into the cabin, and shunt it through a 20 amp hidden switch.

Re: ignition wiring
Now that you have me thinking about this, there is usually a fuse dedicated to the crank sensor. Cutting power to it should render the car unstartable.

quiet dude, you're givin away our trade secrets Yeah, the screwdriver trick works unless you have a Northstar engine - the starter is in the valley pan.
