I have a 02 trailblazer, and recently had AC recharged, and now i notice my engine temp gauge moving up when i am stopped at a light. Any suggestion as to the cause? thank you |

Re: AC causes overheating
thats normal, your engine will get hotter when you stop moving purley over the fact that there is much less air moving over the radiator causing the coolent to warm up. As long as it's not overheating then you are fine. If it is overheating then I would check the fan, radiator, coolent level, and water pump. Hope this helps you out. Peace-

Re: AC causes overheating
Yeah i got a 95 4.6 v8 tbird and my car runs MUCH hotter with the a/c on..
A/C takes ALOT from the engine, making it lag and well..run hotter. I used to drive a 1.9l 4banger escort that suffered from the same thing. Do what PBking said, check all fluids and stuff. Literally using the ac will make a 250hp engine lose about 20hp-that's a drop.

A good check up should do the trick.
