Thats just fuckin tight. My friend Mike and I are going to paint his car and my DSM when I get it. When we bought the car, it had a 2g door on it because the window motor was bad and the previous owner was too lazy to just swap motors. Well today we did and now we have an extra window to practice tinting and a door to practice painting. Let us (me) know how it turns out!

Re: Here comes paint (well primer than paint)

The paint is Martin Senour Crossfire for primer, color, and clear. I'm using a Sharpe Cobalt HVLP gun to spray. All the supporting products are either Martin Senour or 3M mostly because I could get it all at cost. I'm gonna post a complete writeup and photo documentary on my web site after the project is done if anyone is interested in painting their car. Me or my brother will post updates tomorrow once we actually spray some color (black).

Re: Here comes paint (well primer than paint)

i was considering painting my car, but wanted to price the product out at cost. So i jumped online, went to House of Kolor's website; with paint, primer, thinner, reducers, catilist, klear it came out to around $1300. that was for Pollyurithain Candy Coat paint and supporting supplys.

If your going to do it, gota do it right. And it looks like i wont be doing it right for some time. Keep us posted!

Re: Here comes paint (well primer than paint)

Finally started putting some color on it. After exchanging the reducer (had 60-70 degree). I painted the hood, sideskirts, bumpers and started on the car when my compressor started to make a strange noise, it stopped after a second so i continued, then it started making a horrible noise. I turned it off and looked under the cover, the f-ing timing belt (well thats what its called) broke!! Seems like someone doesn't want Ted's car done, we've been hitting little problems like this for the past couple weeks, and now Ted has a new job so I've been doing most of the work.
