97 Sunfire - Starts runs for 2 sec, dies
Hi,
My 97 died last week after driving it pretty hard. I took it to the dealership and they wanted $850 for new IPC because they said it was triggering the anti-theft. I went and got a used IPC, disabled the anti-theft but the problem persists. The car will start, ignite, run for a second or two and die like the fuel is cutting out (like the anti-theft is activated). Any ideas? |

Re: 97 Sunfire - Starts runs for 2 sec, dies
1) Put in the key
2) Turn to the ON position (DO NOT try to start the engine) 3) Leave it sit like this for 11 minutes (10 mins 59 seconds isnt long enough) 4) Turn the key to start, PASSKEY should be relearned. That's probably what the dealer will charge you 800 bucks to do too. |
