knock knock...

hey peeps. What exactly does an engine knock sound like cuz my car is kinda stuttering/hesitating on acceleration. I hope like hell its not a knock so anyone describe it please.

Well it's a sound not a feeling, btw you need a new throttle position sensor (TPS), or Ingition control Module (ICM) and both can be tested for free. GL

A rod knock tends to get louder and faster as the engine rpms pick up then it will slow down when it shifts and get faster and louder as you get to the top of the next gear,,you may hear it less when the engine is under a load and hear it more distinctively when it freewheels or revs up

nice description. This is a little off topic but I have a flight simulator that demonstrates engine failure on a piston powered aircraft. the failure sounds just like what u said morley. kinda "pingy" right?
