Question Shaving antenna

I know some of you have done this. I want to shave it but i still want to get reception on my radio. When i have my antenna all the way down it doesnt work that well. So if i shave it its will be even worse i think. What did all you do for recption after you shaved it?

Just get an internal antenna, you can simply stick it on your windshield. I know Circuit City has them. Easy as that. :frog:

Well, I'm gonna have CD's too, but that commercial-free XM radio will be the bomb so I can still keep up with the new music.

CD's are commercial free too....and they dont cost $10 a month or whatever it costs. I just watch MTV to get the recent songs then download and burn them on CD.

That's assuming you're lucky enough to actually catch MTV playing a song... Anyways, I've got over 600 CD's, and I usually buy 4-5 a month, so paying for XM won't be that big a deal... So, whereas you're probably paying for cable or DSL modem service, I'll be spending that money on XM.

I'm thinink of doing the same to my car and putting either a Fuba Antenna or this one that i saw on my friends car, its like a MINI fuba, but he has a aplifier on the antenna so he never has a problem with reception, even in the NYC Tunnels!

I shaved mine (kinda, accidentally) but it didnt matter much because I have a Empeg player with a pair of 30Gb Hard drives. I have all the music I can dream of in my car. That to go along with the PS2 and 14.5" TFT Display I am installing in the next couple weeks and I should be all set.

What kind of music do you like? I have about 800-900, 75% of those I bought over the years, the others burned from friend's originals. Can't stand downloading music, the quality just isn't the same, even if they are free... its so hard to find anything over 128 kbps....

XM is cool, I thought about getting it, but you still don't have the control of skipping songs. Sirius is cool too, costs more monthly, but almost no commercials. Kenwood makes Sirius headunits, cool stuff...

If anyone's up for trading burned CDs from original sources, let me know...
