The bodywork is nice, engine looks good, but you could improve the interior a lot. I hope this year my MK1 will look as good on the outside as yours, but the inside looks as shabby as mine and I have only just bought it. The seats are not bad in my opinion, but the steering wheel could do with improvement.

I'm surprised, it's in great condition (I have the same color you have)....were some of the 85's also automatic? I was under the assumption that automatic MR2's didn't come into play till the MkII series..
(I have a MkI)

the original color is a lighter shade of blue. auto and manual trannys were avaiable for the first gen mr2's 1985-86 the 87 came out with speakers mounted in the back top corners as well as the dash. and the good news is they will fit in the 85-86 year models as well . i went down to my local salvage yard and got 2 sets of them plus the moldings on this past wensday. one set had some jenson speakers allready installed :-) you could also get sunroof versions ( the sunroof is removeable as well) or "t" top versions when the glass "t" tops were removed they were stored behind the seats where those little straps are. also the best investment you can buy for your mr2 is the toyota factory service manual beter known to us felow mr2 ers as the BGB ( big green book ) its over 1000 pages and covers everything on your model of mr2. you can order them direct from toyota publishing for around 60 bucks. you can also get them from time to time on ebay a lot cheeper but you might get one that has some pages removed from it. |

Re: 20 pics of my 1986 nr2
correct, but you could get a supercharged sc in the later editions of the first gen.
