I ran out of fuel and now my car won't start even after putting fuel in
ok here is the situation...I have a 94' mx-3 manual. I ran out of fuel and now my car won't start even after adding half a tank of fuel. It seems like the fuel is not getting to the engine. My friends told me I might have an "air lock" or something can someone tell me what might be wrong with my car and how to cure this
Thank you Ed |

thanks 96probegt! How would you use the seafoam though? Im reading on their website that i have to have the engine started before and warmed before using it.

Re: I ran out of fuel and now my car won't start even after putting fuel in
I think it could be a clogged fuel filter. I havenT replaced my fuel filter in a while. Does any1 know where the fuel filter is located and can someone easily replace it by themselves. When I try starting my car I hear a "chugging" sound in the rear or near the gas tank.

put half a can in the tank crank it for a little bit if it still doesnt run pull your pcv valve poor some there crank it let it sit for a few minutes this should work it did for me on my talon if all that still doesnt work try some in the throttle body and floor it and let it set any thing to get the seafoam to the injectors

Change fuel filter, leave gas cap off, turn ignition to "on" position, let sit in that position for about 1 minute and then start. Fuel pump has to charge system.
