Fuel, and starting problem

I just bought this 2002 suburban, i love it, but i am having this weird problems with it..........when the fuel gauge says it is a little below a quarter full the car won't start, then i put some gas in it and it starts right up, but if i am able to run the car until the gas gauge says it is completely empty so i don't think it is a problem with the gauge, i have never encountered something like this please help

Re: Fuel, and starting problem

To really determine if the is no fuel in the tank when reading 1/4 tank, put a fuel pressure tester on the fuel rail and check the pressure. With a lack of pressure, the engine won't start. If putting fuel in the tank and the pressure comes up,then it would be safe to assume that the guage is inaccurrate.
