Turn signal - interior light phenomenon 1995 Spirit
1995 Dodge Spirit 4 cylinder. The turn signals stopped blinking. The lights come on when the signal is set but does not blink. Fuse is OK, turn signal blinker replaced. 4 way flashers work fine. Here is the phenomenon: when the door is open, the can on the turn signal flasher gets hot, I mean HOT! Close the door, can cools down. The interior lights work. The radio quit working but after jiggling the wires and replacing the turn signal flasher harness/plug assembly back into it's factory mounting location (instead of just dangling), the radio came back on. The interior light fuse was blown but again, after replacing the urn signal flasher harness/plug assembly back into it's factory mounting location, the fuse has not blown since. Is there a short in a bundle of wires someplace? Has anyone had this happen to them? Where might the shorted bundle be?

Re: Turn signal - interior light phenomenon 1995 Spirit
I had a similar funky electrical problem on another vehicle; there was a short in the turn signal switch on the control column; if it's a multifunctionswitch that does more than just turn signals, there are a lot of things inside that can touch and short. Just a thought.
