Angry Voltage gauge will not change to temp

I have an 84 Corvette, When you turn the motor on the voltage will show, after a while it continues showing. I cannot seem to get the temp to read . it only stays on the voltage.

I have put in a new heat stat and it didn't change. Any advice , This is the first Vette I have owned and would love to get to drive it.

Thanks

Mary

I'm guessing you're toggling the switch on the dash panel up and down, but the reading display isn't changing, correct?.

If this is the case, you'll have to revmove the switch to see if it's a bad connection( broken wire), or a bad switch.
