headlight switch installation

Can someone tell me how to install a headlight switch on an 89 chevy silverado?

First you need to disconnect the battery as the wires to the switch are always hot . then you need to remove the trim plate or bezel in front of the switch,,then reach behind the dash and unplug the doubled wire connector from the switch,,then feel or look for a small little button sticking out of the metal face side of the switch pull the light switch on one click out, push the little button in and wiggle the pull switch out the rest of the way,,,then remove the retaining nut and the rest of the switch should fall out,,,the biggest problem most people have is they cant get the pull lever out of the switch housing,,thats where the little push button comes into play,,it might be hard to find but it is back there on the housing ussualy on the metal side of the housing. Good luck reverse steps to put back together
