1999 Sunfire Buzzing Noise Behind Dash

Hi All, I'm new to posting here, so i'll try my best to describe my problem.

My G/F's 1999 Pontiac Sunfire 2.4L Automatic (155,000km) every now and then made a short buzzing noise from behind the dash when starting, it only did this once in a while, last night it wouldn't start and the buzzing wouldn't stop when the key was in the "run" or "run and start" position. it sounded like a relay to me, so i started digging in the dash last night, after removing half the dash i found the relay, it's for the turn signals. after wiggleing it a bit and cleaning the plug it seemed to be ok, so i tried it 20 times, it was fine, went inside and got her she came out, tried it, and no start started buzzing again! figures, lol. So given it was late when i got to this point i just left the dash apart, gave her my truck for her to get to work, and I drove her car to my work (they gave me funny looks at the Tim Hortons drive through this morning, lol, i was crusing around with the dash in the back seat, lol) and "borrowed" a relay out of a sunfire here (advantages of working for a used car lot, lol(i'm in used automotive sales)) it worked the first few times then started doing the same thing again, i checked the wireing and all the grounding points i could find, and now i'm stumped. I found a few posts on here on the subject, but just people with the same problem, no advice on how to fix. lol, any ideas let me know

Thanks, Geoff

Re: 1999 Sunfire Buzzing Noise Behind Dash

Follow up:
After doing some looking around on here, and other internet sites, i tried removing the ign. module under the plug cover in between the cams, I found that there's a small ground strap that goes under a peice of plastic that's bolted to the cover, it appered from signs of arching that the strap wasn't grounding all the time. I cleaned up all the connections, moved the ground over a bit and re-assembeled, it seems to be ok for now, but i'm still keeping an eye on it, my theroy is that somehow without proper grounding voltage was feeding back to the turn signal relay. if something else happens i'll post here again. hope this might help if anyone else might have this problem.

Today i went to start the car, and it took about 15 times cranking to get it to go, no buzzing, just cranked, when it caught it was fine, drove to work, turned it off went out a few later, and same thing, got it started, turned it off and now it seems fine. full tank of gas, no lights on the dash on at anytime during this trouble. i'm stumped.
