Any car alarm installers out there
I ask this question since I spent about 4 hours looking for the correct spot to hook up the remote door lock/unlock wires. The instructions that came with the unit, while good do not give a specific point to cut and splice, meaning an actual location. I checked their site and found most of the wire colors to be exact, but locations weren't. I have a 1999 CVPI, and I have been using the wiring manual for a 1996. While I do expect some difference, Ford has made it real hard to hook up aftermarket alarms. While the 1996 states that there is wiring that goes from the drivers door to the passenger door, the 1999 doesn't seem to have it. It looks more like they run everything through the drivers door.
Thats my next project when I get time next week. Meanwhile if anybody knows or has access to a wiring service that would give me the exact placement of the lock/unlock wire I would be very appreciative. |

Thanks that is a lot of information, but I do have the color coding, what I need is where to physically hook up, (door panel, under dash at location ???)the lock/unlock wires. Ford uses,to lock/unlock a positive trigger with reverse polarity at rest( meaning ground). I have to find the location where all the wiring for all the electric lock cylinders come together, thats where I have to cut and place relays in between.

Re: Any car alarm installers out there
It's right in front of you.... The door locks are on a single circuit on CVPI without a keyless keypad on the driver's door. Unlike power windows where each window has it's own switch, both of the power lock switches control all 4 doors. You can cut into the door lock circuit at the driver's side or passenger’s side kick panel. The passenger’s side kick panel might be a little better since the parking break is not the way, and there is less wiring. If your alarm does not have the relays built in you will need a pair of them. They should be fused at 10 amps.
Door Lock Pink/Yellow W/Keyless Positive Door Unlock Pink/Light Green W/o Keyless Entry Reverse Polarity These are the two wires that you need to cut. You will also need to know what side of each wire is the motor and switch side. Quote:
