red line on a civic
i just go tmy civic but its a dx and has no tach. im going to get one soon, but i was wondering if someone can roughly tell me speed each gear will bring you too. right now i shift very conservitavley so i dont overrev my engine and damage it or something. i knwo theres fuel cut off, but im just psychologically unable to rev my car that high since i just got it.

If you don't plan on doing anything to it an 8k tach should be fine but if you plan on like turboing it or doing a mini-me swap get a 10k. Your redline is probally in the 7-8000 range. shift points all depend on where you feel most comfortable shifting.

Re: red line on a civic
what mods are you doing that require you to take it even near redline?

well all i really wanna know is how high i can rev the engine without blowing it. im not really in track, just street, and want to know how hard i can push the car just when im driving. all the car has is an intake and in the future all im planning is light suspension mods and some interior lighting. eventually im going to do a mini me swap, but i still want to do more research on it first.

Re: red line on a civic
Get a tach and redline it, then you'll know for sure.
