Question Headlight fuse or switch - 83 rabbit LS

Hi Folks,

troubleshooting headlights after my rabbit has been parked a couple years.

Lamps are good (they light up when you hold the dimmer switch).

Other stuff from the switch works (dome light, dash, etc)

VW's wiring diagram shows at 15A fuse in line before the headlight switch (and another before the dimmer switch), but doesn't show it on the fuse block layout drawing. In the real world, it isn't there.

Are they hiding it somewhere else (because lying on my back reading the block with a flashlight is too easy? ;-) Or does it not exist?

Thanks for the help!

it sounds as if you have a bad headlight switch. the fuse that you are speaking of may be a fusable link in the wire harness.
