92 LS Gearbox problems i think

alright i have resently had my top end rebuilt and what not and for a while now when i change down from 3rd gear to second gear and 2nd gear to 1st gear i can hear this loud grinding noise.

this happens when i just take my foot of the clutch.. now if i keep the revs up while changing down this noise is not made

does anyone know what this could be?

Hey i have a 1992 integra ls and i am no expert but but my cars was doing the same thing ...all i did was change the trans fluid and that solved my prob..........these cars use motor oil in the trans instead of gear oil ...anyways hope this helps you..good luck and have a good day

Ya you might wanna check your fluids, if thats not the case, my cusin has a 92 ls and well his situation was different, his driver side strut assem. had cracked in the bay area/frame, which holds the strut assem. This caused the axles and everything else to bend and made it very hard to shift through the gears, the only way to get it in gear without having to grind through gears was to rev and place into gear and I bring this up, because you said you had to rev to put it in gear easy.
So you might wanna check inside the bay at the strut portion to see if any cracks or odd indentions are where it bolts up.
