Introduce myself

My name is tom and I was recently given an 1988 olds ninety eight regency brougham and it does not shiftout of first the trans simply disengages and the car slows to about 10 miles an hour then the trans kicks back in I have checked the fluid and it is full. Well folks that is what brought me to your forum does anybody have any ideas were I would start. Thanks in advance for your advise.

Re: Introduce myself

Well unfortunately since it's a transmission related problem your best bet would be to take it to the dealer, but it sounds like bad #1 clutch pack. Welcome to the forums though, and good luck.
