relieving fuel system pressure

I want change my fuel filter and was wondering how to release the fuel pressure?

You mean before you get the wrench on it?

You can use a fuel pressure guage to bleed the pressure out of the schraeder (sp?) valve in the fuel line under the hood, but you'll still get some fuel leaking on you. I've read a post or two that advise to disconnect power to the fuel pump while running and let the engine burn off what's remaining, but that idea makes me uncomforatble.
