2002 Ranger Electric Window Working Sometimes
Howdy all
I have a 2002 Ranger with electric windows. The passenger side is working intermittently but mostly not. I will roll it down it may go down all the way, maybe 3 inches. Then i hit the button to put it down more or up and it wont move. I might go out an hour later and hit the button and it works again, but the same way. Is this the motor most likely or the switch? I tried banging on the door and switch while pushing the switch hoping to indicate a loose connection but nothing different happens. Of course it is 2 months out of warranty now. |

I came upon your post when I searched Google for the same problem. I threw away $33 at the local ford dealer replacing the switch. (Electrical parts can not be returned.) After disassembling the door, I found that the window worked when the motor was pressured towards the interior. (It could be misalignment or a faulty ground connection.) I made an appropriate size piece of 2" thick lumber and wedged it between the motor and the outside of the door. So far, so good.
