When you go to buy your replacement parts the brake shoes come in a set for the front and a set for the rear. As far as rotors, I am not sure about the 94 Cutlass Supreme's brake setup. More than likely it has rotors on the front wheels and a drum brake setup on the rear. Your auto parts store will be able to tell you for sure.

Re: Dumb ? about brakes
The brakes have to be the best working items on a car...they have to work each and every time without fail. Stopping 4000 lbs of rolling steel is a very important part of cruising and looking cool.
At the very least, buy a repair manual and read up on the job before pulling the wheels off. If you can get someone to show you the first time, the better. Don't mess around with this. |

i have a 94 supreme it has caliper brakes on the front and rear, so that means you have front and rear rotors too, caliper brakes are easy to replace the shoes, the front rotors should come off when you take the calipers off, the rear looks like you have to take the bearing nut off and slip the bearing out, then it should slide off, there might be a keyway on the rear also.

Re: Dumb ? about brakes
hey there buddy, its me again with the 94 cutlass, i replaced the whole system on mine about a month ago, I bought ceramic pads in the front, which are the best quality and semi metallic, which are the almost best quality, you want the best quality pads in the front, since the front produces the most stopping power, you have a 4 wheel rotor system, so u are going to buy a set of break pads for the front rotors and a set for the back, ceramic pads cost me about 65 bucks at advance and 29 for the semi metallic, this car is close to 4000 pounds so you might want to consider the pads i told u, the normal 19 dollar organic pads will finish faster due to the weight, and they leave horrible break dust in the rims, and if you have those rims with the little holes, you know how hard it is to clean that area. Anyways, for the back you will need a special tool, they have it in napa for about 7 bucks, its a little cube with different little bumps, it fits in a ratchet, the little bumps should fit in the break piston, since it will open up as soon as you take the caliper off, using the tool with the ratchet, push in and twist, this should put the piston back in, this is only the back, the front you can just close the piston with anything else. As for rotors, they are 19 dollars at autozone and 20 some for the ac delco ones. When you are finished, and go run your car, you will notice the car will smoke from the wheels, that is normal, since the new rotors have some oily coating on them. Good luck
