I have a huge problem with removing the water pump of my 92 continental.
The pump's gone bad (water dripping out from underneath) and i bought a new one from advance auto parts. But i can't get the old pump out. I have a copy of the Ford customer service workshop Manual and all it sais is: Quote:
This is what it looks like: ![]() now i have a problem with these bolts: ![]() ![]() they need to move another inch or two before i can pull them out, but they are allready hitting the sides. Is there any way to get the water pump out without lifting the whole engine out? Thanks Alex |

Re: Removal of 92 continental water pump
Since your question was asked in May I suppose you probably have this pump licked by now! If not you'll notice the "bolts" are realy long studs. If you can get the nuts off them just thread them back into the block, and remove the water pump. Its a tight squease but raiseing the engine with a jack under the pan (be sure to use a block of wood on the jack and loosen the motor mnts!) helps by raiseing the pump's bulk above the unibody!
