im looking to buy a 85 supra and it seems to be in good condition along with a good running condition one major repair is going to be that the hatch hasnt opened in a few years. not with the lach or the key the car is going for 1000 with 157000 how do you think it will cost or effort taken and do you think is worth it

I bet it's worth it. Probably just a frozen lock/latch mechanism that can be replaced from a junk yard or freed and greased up. Bring it to a dealer and get an estimate. They may tell you what's wrong and then you have a choice about what to do about it.
