installing corner/tail lights

ok i have a 97 pathy. i bought some new taillights and i cant remove them...i undid both screws but there is an attachment between the car/light i cant remove. i dont wanna pull very hard cause it seems like it may break. i have the same problem with my corners, i unscrewed the screw but cant pull light off. PLEASE this is frustrating! if any1 can help me PLEASE post

I have a 98 and all you have to do is undo the 2 screws then pull straight out, it has 2 plastic clip/plugs holding it in place, I bought the newer style tail lamps and changed them very easily also there is a rubber gromet just pull that out after tail lamp is off and unplug the wire, plug yours in and your ready to go. As for the front it should be one screw and it should slide out easily, the side with no screw is plastic and it fits behind the bumper.

On the front it has a little plastic gromet that holds the corner in. If it breaks u can only go to the dealer to get the part. it costs about $2, but good luck trying to describe it to the parts person.
