P0753 SES Code and Fuel Gauge Trouble

My 2000 Blazer has an error code that states:
P0753 - Solenoid A
I noticed my tranny running rough when shifting between gears and I have lost overdrive. How can I fix this problem? Ignition Switch Blazer LT?

I also have a fuel gauge trouble. When my gauge reaches does not read anything pass 1/2 a tank. The gauge will stop at a half and then go directly to "low fuel" when I have like a gallon of gas left. Is the pump the problem or the sending unit? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ever serviced the tranny?

Your sending unit needs replacing.

Thank you for the prompt response..Yes...I had the tranny fluid changed, that is about it. I do not know if they changed the filter. I should also add that I got inflicted with the Death-Cool...I opened my radiator after reading through some threads and it is like mud...a total mess..I bought the prestone flush and fill kit and cleaner, however it is still like mud...I also changed the radiator cap.

The filter being plugged could cause your problem.

Also, what rad cap did you use? Did you make sure the whole cooling system was completely clean?

I used a Stant Radiator cap. The cooling system isn't completely clean. I think I have to flush it again. Is the filter something I can change? Is it easy to replace and to get to? Also how can I tell if the fuel pump is the problem or the sending unit? Should I change both?

The sending unit is defective and will have to be changed.

Also, take the truck into a shop and have the cooling system reverse flushed properly. Those mild flush kits do practically nothing to a muddy system.

Flush the whole system, not just the rad.

It never goes into overdrive? This could mean your engine is not going into closed loop or your need to sefvice your transmission.

It revs at like 3000 RPM when I am going like 60-65. If I go to 70 the RPMs continue to increase pass 3000. I feel like it had another gear at one time. Is this normal?

Sounds like your tranny needs servicing with a flush and a filter.

The transmission might be not getting the pressure it needs.

Before having the trans fluid and filter changed, note if the transmission has 1st gear as well. No 1st or 4th (O.D.) could be caused by a bad shift solenoid A and at approx. $25.00 from the dealer, may be cheaper to replace it with the fluid and filter.

That would explain the P0753 error code. I will try that and report back. Is it difficult to locate and change?

Do not have a diagram available, however, if I recall correctly, the 1-2 shift solenoid (or solenoid A) is the one located in the front left (driver's side).

The solenoids are very easy to locate and identify once the transmission pan and filter is removed - all the solenoids have a 2-pin electrical connector. One side of the connector (on all solenoids) has constant voltage via the TRANS fuse in the fuse box. The other side is a ground (seperate wire for each solenoid) from the ecm. The ecm applies ground to the individual solenoid to actuate it. One could use a volt meter with the ignition switch ON (vehicle NOT running) to determine hot side of connector, then use small jumper wire to apply ground to the other side - working solenoid will provide an audible click. Extreme care should be taken not to short the wiring harness or ecm.
