wtf is this?

On my '92, on the dash to the left of the steering wheel next to the vent, is a black plastic piece covering a hole. I can pop it out, but is there something that's supposed to be in there? I guess I could just use it to install a switch for something eventually..Thanks guys....more kisses!

are you guys talking about the headlight switch???? the only other switch there would be for foglamps, but there wasnt a hole in there if it didnt come with them. what it could be is someone installed a switch at some point from the aftermarket, and then removed it, putting the plug in its place.
