Question How's the mountain racing in San Diego?

I've got a friend that goes to UCSD, and he mentioned that they have mountain racing up there, but he doesn't know the details. Anybody care to fill me in?

So is drag racing on city streets.

No, that's not to say you or anyone else does it. It's just stating a fact that it is dumb.

Actually, I think there's much more of a thrill. You push a lot more of your car to the limit than you would drag racing or even autocrossing a lot of times. Yeah, it's more dangerous... but at least you're only putting yourself in danger (unless you run with a passenger... in which case you should be shot). With drag racing on city streets, you never know who you might hit coming out of a side street or coming the other way if you lose control.

I've been wanting to do a run down palomar, but neither of my cars have been ready yet. The CRX should be able to do a decent run downhill once I get the brakes finished on it.

We'll have to set up a Palomar Mountain meet or something.

I've never even been mountain driving in my car. The closest I've come is taking 80 East to Reno to go to the casinos. I went to my aunt's cabin in Lake Tahoe once in my car (I usually go in my friend's or cousin's trucks), but my car couldn't make it all the way because it was too low and there was snow everywhere, and chains are kind of out of the question. hehehe

It looks fun though, I'd love to do it.

I'll try to steal my cousin's 240SX and learn how to drift down there. The twistiest road I've been on so far was some freeway up near Mendocino (I can't remember which one) and on US101 up north near the redwood forest. Too bad I was driving a van

Well, i've never tried it. I'll let you borrow it and see if you can though :finger:. Have fun hitting the ebrake and rolling it down the side of the mountain .

Seriously though, I can't wait to get my hands on an FR car so I can start to learn.
