ABS code 1-2

Alright....my ABS light has been on for quite a while, and just the other day I finally took my car to a mechanic to pull the code...they said it was a Code 1-2 (pump circuit problem), and that he'd have to run thru a bunch of diagnostics to "hunt it down". does any one know if i can take care of this myself...or just save the time and hassle, and let them do it?

your going to want to bleed the breaks. Doing this fixed the problem for me. Its where all the break fluid is flushed out and changed. If this doesn't work then its a bad ABS unit. I've seen them online for under 500 bucks. Those are the two most likely scenarios, I dont know what else would cause this. Ocassionally my light will stay on at startup but if I restart the car it goes away, this happens every once in a while.
