braking problem

hello, if any body can shed any light on my problem it would be appreciated. I have a 1995 s-10 blazer if i hit brakes while driving down the road i'm fine but if i hit them when i'm driving through a parking lot at slower speeds it feels like my abs kicks in and i have no stopping power. I was told that it might be my hub bearings does that sound right?

Re: braking problem

Check for vacuum leaks or a partially plugged EGR as well. If there is anything blocking the EGR pintle from closing 100% at idle, manifold vacuum does not develop properly and robs you of power brake assist especially at lower engine speeds. (Like idling in bumper to bumper traffic or maneuvering through a parking lot. My brakes felt like they quit too!) Had that happen last week when my EGR decided to choke on a chunk of carbon.

Re: braking problem

Sounds like the Speed sensors in the front hubs need cleaning.

It is not your EGR, if it was, the engine would not idle.

It is something to do with your speed sensors.

You should clean them and reinstall them.
