92 Sable Power Steering Problem

OK My power steering problem started when it would make noise as i turned the wheel. It would be low on fluid (didn't see a leak) and i'd fill it and it'd be fine. now it makes a loud noise all the time and even louder when i turn the wheel. i haven't driven it in weeks. the last time i started it and turned the wheel, it spit out some fluid when i shut it down. also i see a little steam/smoke coming from the firewall side of the engine and it smells like a burning chemical (ps fluid?) anyways please help if you know what any of this means because i'm not a mechanically-inclined person and hope it's an easy fix.
