Cant Be EGR!!!

Short and sweet....
95 Blazer less than 120K rough idle, almost stalling, Egr valve has been removed and cleaned several times, new plugs, wires, idles low enough that when at an idle the oil pressure drops real low and the engine starts to knock, hit accelerator and it the knock goes away, Im sure theres more than one problem here such as possible fuel related issues, and possible oil pump bearrings going out, any other thoughts or anyone know what this may be?

Re: Cant Be EGR!!!

Any check engine lights?

Cleaned the IAC valve and hole it inserts into?

Did you check for carbon in the EGR valve again?

Cap & rotor?

Re: Re: Cant Be EGR!!!

I just pulled my egr and took out 3 chunks of carbon. since my egr was replaced only 3 months ago and has been pulled out 3 times since I didnt replace it. As I have read on other posts I added 4oz/10 gallons of gas of MMO to my fuel tank. This was my first time for myself with the egr and I'll be ready for the next.thanks to all the posts MURF

Re: Cant Be EGR!!!

When you take out the EGR valve, start the engine for a few seconds. It will rev up a good ways, but will blow out some of the loose carbon in the passage, good for several months usually. Be prepared for a racket when it starts, no harm done.

Re: Cant Be EGR!!!

good that you are getting the carbon out of the system.

This will get better over time.

You might want to see what is causing the carbon build up like the CPI or nut kit leaking.
