Ford Focus - 1999 Rally of Great Britain

Hi all,

Here is another one of the few kits I have finished whilst I have not been around here, you can the Lotus Super 7 in the street section. Anyway this is a Hasegawa Ford Focus, I will admit now it is not up to the standards of some of the rally affecianados that we have on here but its a reasonable effort.

Looks more than reasonable to me!

I take it you used decals for the bright red areas? How well did they go on?

Yeah I used the decals in the kit...OMG! I had such a 'mare with them, The ones around the back portion of the car were really difficult to put on and I must admit I have been selective with the pics I have chosen, as it is obvious in some pics were i messed up!

Oh thanks for the compliments

Very brave man to use those big orange/red decals. Worked out pretty well though. The Focus looks great!

Those are decals? Wow, nice work with that, looks like a heck of a job. I would have trimmed off all the orange and painted that rather than futz with the decals.

Phil,

Brave = Stupid, I gotta admit I never even thought to paint the orange part. That is the beauty of this hobby, we all learn from our mistakes, plus we also learn from each other and I will definately think about things like that in future.

Thanks again for all the comments. Like I said in the Lotus thread when comments like these are made it gives me the cofidence to share more of my work and also strive to improve.

Have one more model to share with you all but I need to take pics. Also I have just started a Mercedes 2000 DTM but over the weekend it has come to an abrupt halt as my airbrush is busted and I am trying to find somewhere that ships Badger parts to Ireland!!!!

I believe Tower Hobbies ships overseas. Just be sure to buy a lot of stuff to make it worth the shipping LOL And look around because sometimes you find killer deals (Like a Revell AG Corolla WRC for $10, or the Italeri Subaru team hauler with Tamiya car for $30-40).
