It's gotta be the Pug, since the CRX isn't a DOHC VTEC model.

I'd go with the Peugeot 205 GTI, and I normally only recommend Japanese cars in these types of comparisons, so that should say something about the greatness of the 205.

Re: Daily driver: Pug205gti, crx si, porsche 944...

the porsche wins out by far.... and if by MK2 you mean S2, the 3 litre model.... than none of the other cars mentioned even come close. buy a 944 turbo if you possibly want substantially more power in the future. not only is the porsche the fastest, but also the best handling car there. in fact i dont see how it fits among all those others you just mentioned...?

The Porsche is going to cost ten times more to maintain than any other car on the list. Sure, it's the fastest, but that speed comes at a steep price.

Yeah, but can he afford all the extra cost? If he can't, then the Peugeot 205 is the next best thing on that list.

In fact I can spend about 2k$, maybe a little bit more on the car, and then to have 500$ for a little repairs...
we can cross out some cars from my list, because I don't think they siut me well enough, its nissan, volvo, mr2 and older celica, now I think that for 2k I can find newer one

Re: Daily driver: Pug205gti, crx si, porsche 944...

first - GTI
next i would say the nissan (the 2.0L is the SR20 right?)
naturally aspirated sr20s are soooo durable and reliable
i would not recommend the porsche as your main daily driver. its a very nice and fast car, but i would only have it as my second car
