High Idle

My 91 CX had been recently put back on the road after about 3 months sitting time and was fine at first then i got the old check engine light and a pretty high idle. I tried changing what it was set at but the lowest i can get it set to was still way too high. I also checked for leaks.. no dice. Pretty stumped. I checked all my grounds thinking maybe that would do something but no. Also it wont let me change into gear from park. AT by the way. Any help would be great.

Re: High Idle

check the how many times the LED on the ECU blinks and tell us, that will be the error code and it helps diagnose the problem. The ECU is under the carpet on the passenger side foot well.

Re: High Idle

I was thinking maybe the IAC valve on the right of the manifold? I Cleaned the carb in and out throttle body too. I still dont know how i'm not getting a blink or flash from the ECU.

Re: High Idle

carb?? are you sure you are checking the ECU light? If it's solid then it might be busted.

Re: High Idle

if you turn the key to the on position, the ECU LED will flash the code. you dont need to jump anything. its under the carpet on the passenger side. theres a sightglass on top of the ECU, so you dont need to unbolt anything
