Re: help with 1995 lebaron gtc.. auto.. sigh
your best bet is a K & N filtercharger system for it. Exhaust systems are hard to come by for a car 10 years old. If you have the 3.0, it makes some power, but still it's not meant to be a 10 second bracket car.

thanks for your input, i really appreciate it. But what about putting a 52mm throttle body on it from a old dodge van or something, i believe it would fit? again thanks |

I've never seen anyone put a different throttle body from a Dodge van, it might work, not sure. As far as turbonators, not sure as well, possibly. It all depends on how much you want to spend to make the car faster.

52mm throttle body is a popular mod for 3.0's it's good for just under 10hp or so and it changes your powerband a little too so your high end power is better.
K&N cone filter you can attach directly to your throttle body or make tubing for cold air, the K&N RU-0620 will fit directly on the t-body and is only $29.99 at most auto parts places. Exhaust doesn't seem to do ALL that much on these cars but ofcourse just about anything is better than stock, a good 2.5" pipe and good flowing muffler will do you just fine, all for just a couple hundred at an exhaust shop unless you do it yourself. You can also upgrade to 8mm wires and a MSD coil/ignition, that's another popular mod. I'm going to port my intake plenum once I have access to a decent dremel, I heard it's good for about 5hp and makes the car drive better if you do it right. Just do the basic bolt-ons, and figure out what you want to do from there, there's tons of options available, just depends on what you want to do and spend. There are people with custom turbo kits and superchargers on the 3.0. http://web.tampabay.rr.com/redroby/3liter/ a good site to mod the 3.0 www.cheetahonline.com is good too. and ofcourse check out www.thedodgegarage.com Good luck modding! |

What would you want to make it faster for? True, the 3.0 won't get you any impressive strip times, but it has plenty of torque. My stock 95 with 88,000 has no problem getting out of its own way, and can leave those punks who think their tricked out junkers are hot s**t far behind .

The easiest way to get some extra "seat of the pants" speed is to change the ignition timing in the car to get some extra power. The more you advance the timing the higher grade fuel you'll have to use and beware of advancing too much or you'll damage the engine with all of the excessive pinging that will go on.

there are tons of things that you can do to the 3.0L engine to make it faster. One of my friends has a spirit that has 370bhp at the chassis, its been dyno tested. If you are interested more than drop me an e-mail at [email protected]
