Graphics, how far do you think they'll go?

How far do you think graphics will evolve? Do you think that they will ever get to be just like real life? I think that they will at some point in time a long time from now, or close to it.

I've thought about this question since Playstation came out. I would love to know the future of video games and know how "crazy" they will get. I think with how fast technology is evolving now days, that its just a matter of time before they look almost realistic.

I just thought of this... If graphics get real, then they will have to start putting more money into the actual gameplay, because people won't buy games for graphics if they are all real because you can't get any realer then real. I don't know if that makes sense to anone but me though...

if anyone remembers back in the day the 3DO system, very old, and very expensive, this system had some of the realest videogame invironments ive ever seen, for its time it looked stellar but the cost of it was so outrageous that it went away, along with other high priced systems.

know that the technology is catching back up, and that prices for game systems have come down, i can bet that virtual reality machines are not very far off.

i cant wait for their release.

I'm more interested in advanced AI than advanced graphics.

advanced graphics.... have any of you seen the FMVs (CGI movies) in FF-X2 (Final Fantasy X-2)?... wow... Yuna looks freaking real in those pics.. i'll try to post a link with good pics.. but if you search for them yourself... your bound to find some....

oh.. and i'm not talking about the pic where she's walking up the staircase either... they are pics from the FMV that she sings in.. .i think its the opening intro or something.. but it looks pretty damn nice

i was watchin comedy central presents yesterday and it had this guy that was talkin about video games. he was makin jokes about the future of video games. he said "you know, when the origonal gamers have grandchildren they will finish playin a fighting game with their grandchildren and then say i remember back to when i was a kid. we had a video game where you had to help a frog cross the road. and dont leave yet because i still need to tell you about the little yellow dot that eats smaller yellow dots and gets chased by ghosts." i was laughin my ass off!!!! virtual reallity isnt far away in my opinion.

Re: Graphics, how far do you think they'll go?

They are becomeing to real. They may replace movies in the future. Check out Final Fantasy Advert Children 2nd Trailer in this link

You may have to wait for the advertisment passes. The clip is 2+ minutes.
