Transmissions
Are the transmissions for the 3000gt very bad? I am interested in a base 95 w/ 110k miles for my first car however, I cannot afford to put in another 1-2k if the trans. breaks. I found this page:
http://www.mitsubishisucks.com/cars/...00gt/1995.html And almost every problem is with the transmission. I also remember reading something like you cannot just buy a certain part, you have to buy the whole thing. Is that correct? Thanks |

Re: Transmissions
I can find a dodgesucks page, a fordsucks page, a hondasucks page. Every car/manufacturer is going to have problems. None are immune. If you read the FAQ, you would see that our cars aren't the most reliable, but they aren't bad either. The transmissions are one of our weaker points, but overall they aren't horrible. If you treat them well, they will treat you well.
And as far as not being able to replace parts of the transmission, that is just ignorance. Dealerships will say that, so they can charge you 3-5 grand for a $200 job.

Re: Transmissions
Flush will help you for about 1-2 days actually...for a $200 fix you would have to buy the parts that go inside the tranny and put them in yourself...which is no easy task.
