Updated my web page, what do you think?

I re-did the web page a little, as well as put on updated pics. Link to all my complete how-to's and some other stuff. Let me know what you think! Any feedback is appreciated! (I suck as an artist)

Something(pic/vid) isn't loading at the top of your webpage?
Good Background, more pics of the truck would nice!

It looks better than the old page, but there seems to be a problem with your java menu. I couldn't get the menu to load with IE (sounds like Sen Sen had the same problem). When I switched to firefox it worked. I would recommend just using text links, you can make them look just like the applet menu and they will load everytime.

I would also recommend making the how-to links open in a new window.

AOL users: If you visited his old page, you may need to right-click the page then click refresh to see the new page.

I redid it without the java applet, see how it works for you now.

Re: Updated my web page, what do you think?

The text links are a lot better. Overall I'd say that the whole thing looks pretty good.

Appreciate it... Got a lot of comments on the cocktail table.. Probably this summer I'll build an upright.

Yeah, I thought that thing was cool. I remember playing pong on one of those when it first came out, a long time ago.

About how much would it cost me to build a good upright, using all new parts?
I'm requesting arcade building to be your next how-to.

Well, find a used case from a vendor, that will be anywhere from a 100 to 200 bux...

You will need a monitor tube... They run about 350-500 depending on what size you get. The tube I have for my upright that I'm building is a 27" I paid about 500 for it. Buttons are cheap, about 1.50 a piece. You will need an IPAQ decoder, that runs about 50 bux for a 24x24 matrix or about 80 for a 48x48 matrix.. You will want at least an athlon 1800 for the base of the system. A decent vid card. Decent joysticks...I reccomend happ's perfect 360 for those. Maybe a trackball and a spinner(s) You will need to design your control board layout as well. Create and have the cabinet graphics you want. You will need a front end (I use 3darcade for mine) Lighting, power, imagination...

Look at this page for examples http://www.arcadecontrols.com/arcade_examples.php

Re: Updated my web page, what do you think?

Thanks.
Thanks for the link, too, there'a a lot of info there to go through. It sounds like something I'd like to do.

On your web page....you made it clear that you used an arcade monitor, not a computer monitor.....what's the difference?

Re: Updated my web page, what do you think?

Technology...I wanted authentic arcade games (the games are roms from the arcade machine system boards) Computer monitors tend to be too sharp for arcade games and end up showing every single scan line. If you get an old jamma cabinet with a monitor it's even better because you would just need the converter from ultimarc.

Re: Updated my web page, what do you think?

Thanks again. I've been doing a little research.... an old jamma cabinet, J-PAC interface, and an ArcadeVGA card look like the way to go. I've got a Monsoon MM-2000 340watt surround system in the closet that should work well for the audio.
