pull up parking brake, put in first, rev up, drop clutch. If you roll forward then your front tires are too good or your parking brake is too weak.

This is how I would do it although I know more about rwd, I have also done burnouts in fwd...

follow the steps:

1. reverse about 20-30kmh

2. press the clutch and shift to neutral

3. now your moving backwards with about 30 kmh in neutral

4. Now shift in 1st gear, keep the clutch down and raise the revs to about 4500 rpm or more (not too much cause u can burn the clutch)

5. Now simoutaniously let go of the clutch and pull the hand brake as high as u can

6 enjoy the burnout

try it and let me know how it went remember to raise rpm before u let go of the cluch

ya, shifting into 1st while you're rolling backwards is REALLY bad for your synchros.

Re: Newbie question. How to burn out in FWD?

I had a Saturn 1992...it had 90 HP...5 speed....I used to leave a set about 25 30 feet long....I put it in 1st, clutch pedal down, brought rpm's to 3000, let off clutch slowly, as car moved i punched the gas and let off clutch alot faster...I think almost any standard car can leave a set. You need to get a feel for the clutch.... It is a good way to burn your clutch fast
