Crown Victoria Performance
I just got a crown victoria 1998 P71 , I made some modifications on it but I did not like the results, first I put a K&N filter upgraded MAF tube for more air flow, I took the tip of the air filter housing that looks like a cone I drove it and it ran weak like if it needed more fuel I lost that quick throttle response so I put back the stock MAF tube back because the air meter was not detecting enough air flow the air has to go through with pressure , before I did that mod the tires will skid around 15-20 from a complete stop to full throttle not brake torching, I lost that that quick throttle response, then I installed a chip module mod and removed my catalytic converters and replace them with 22inch glass packs-pipes to improve exhaust flow and reduce the rattling noise the mufflers makes after all these modifications all of a sudden my transmission started acting up it works fine 1-2 gears but for third gear it RPM's more and the car advances slower than normal, I have worked on my own cars but this is my first electronic control transmission car I was thinking the tranny is giving up but the mechanic said the tranny is fine that it has to do something with a sensor or reprogram and the only sensors that could be affected by these MOD's were the ATS, MAF and the four oxygen sensors my next upgrades were going to be a 75mm throttle body and 3.73 gears but I need to get this fix any ideas, tips will help.

For the trans problems, when you do some upgrades, you may need to do a quick learn test to reprogram the transmission. The upgrades you were talking about should require a quick learn test but you may want to look into it. You should search the proper procedures for a quick learn online, because it is a somewhat long procedure. Try that and see if it is still acting up.

I was thinking and thinking
it has to be something I change or install that made the difference but I just did not want to believe everything I did to my car was done to improve performance I was about to give up and sell the car but I took my friends advise "TAKE THE DAM CHIP OFF" and I just did like a couple hours ago and test drive my car on the freeway WOW it seems everything went back to normal it looks like the chip was effecting the transmission I hope that was the problem because if it was I saved lot's of $$$$$$

Re: Re: Re: Crown Victoria Performance
I was about to buy a speedo gear and I heard that the speedo gear I need is not recommended because it has a reputation of grinding and breaking its teeth.
